Adult Education Teacher – State of Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Adult Education Teacher to deliver high‑quality instruction to adult learners across the Service Delivery Area. This full‑time position involves classroom teaching, student progress evaluation, and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans for face‑to‑face and hybrid classes.
• Prepare and maintain Student Education Plans and related instructional materials.
• Provide learner guidance, evaluate ongoing progress, and adjust instruction to meet goals.
• Promote the adult education program to public and private organizations.
• Participate in the EAGLE competition and represent the program.
• Prepare required documentation, administrative reports, and staff development materials.
• Maintain a secure classroom environment and supervise volunteers.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (minimum).
• Master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and meet funding contingencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and job‑related software, including Blackboard.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Interpersonal skills for working with diverse adult learners.
• Capability to adapt instructional material to various learning styles.
• Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult education.
• Understanding of community needs within the service area.
