Site Superintendent – Pipe & Earthwork (Heavy Civil)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Site Superintendent to lead heavy civil construction projects focused on underground utilities and earthwork. The ideal candidate thrives on data‑driven problem solving, works independently, and ensures work is performed correctly the first time.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate project information promptly and accurately to relevant parties.
• Develop and execute detailed plans for earthwork and pipe installation, including mass grading, excavation, trenching, backfill, compaction, and utility installation.
• Prepare crews daily through defined planning processes and oversee a three‑week look‑ahead schedule aligned with the overall project timeline.
• Review timesheets, quantity logs, and daily labor reports to ensure alignment with budget and production goals.
• Maintain safety standards, report accidents, incidents, rework, damage, and near‑misses in a timely manner.
• Align manpower and equipment for optimal results while fostering field personnel development.
• Protect company and rental equipment and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Proven experience with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage).
• Valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, and ability to pass background, drug, and culture‑index screenings.

Required skills

• Underground utilities installation sequencing.
• Earthwork, grading, and trench safety knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Development and management of three‑week look‑ahead schedules.
