Geotechnical Engineer – Rail Projects

About the role

Olsson is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its Rail Construction and Administration Management team. You will bridge the gap between soil conditions and structural design, ensuring the stability and strength of rail projects from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis for rail infrastructure.
• Develop project proposals, scopes, schedules, and design calculations.
• Travel to diverse job sites for field observations and data collection.
• Provide constructible designs that meet client specifications and project deadlines.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 4+ years of geotechnical analysis and design experience.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, travel frequently, and lift equipment weighing 30 lb or more.
• Valid driver’s license.
