Senior Database Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of our production database services. The role is hands‑on, covering PostgreSQL as the primary platform and supporting ClickHouse, MongoDB and Redis. You will work closely with engineering teams to automate operations, reduce manual interventions and improve incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain high‑availability PostgreSQL clusters (Patroni, PgBouncer, replication, failover, upgrades, backup, PITR).
• Develop and validate disaster‑recovery procedures, runbooks and measurable RTO/RPO targets.
• Troubleshoot incidents across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB and Redis, reviewing access changes and improving monitoring.
• Automate DBA workflows with Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, GitLab CI/CD and custom scripts for provisioning, grants, backups, restores and health checks.
• Build self‑service DBaaS capabilities to enable engineering teams to request databases and credentials with minimal manual effort.
• Enhance observability using Grafana, metrics, logs, SLOs, alert rules and Opsgenie routing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing PostgreSQL in business‑critical production environments.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals (MVCC, WAL, replication, autovacuum, backups, PITR).
• Strong Linux administration skills and experience with incident response.
• Ability to quickly learn and operate ClickHouse, MongoDB and Redis in production.
