Purchasing Support Specialist

About the role

GME Supply is looking for a Purchasing Support Specialist to join its procurement team. You will be trained on the company’s in‑house software and work closely with the Purchasing, Business Development, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure purchasing decisions align with company goals.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on purchase orders to confirm vendor acknowledgment and ship dates.
• Work with vendors to report and resolve shipping discrepancies.
• Manage pricing updates by compiling and uploading new data.
• Identify and share opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing communications and provide status updates to colleagues.
• Track open purchase orders for past‑due materials and assist Sales and Customer Service on related projects.
• Track metrics, generate reports, and provide feedback on ongoing projects.
• Lead self‑managed projects as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a purchasing department or related field is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities.
