Product Owner – Email Security (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Product Owner to run the team that builds and operates the Imunify Email product line. You will lead a small, senior, fully remote squad and be accountable for what the team ships, how reliably it runs, and how the people on it grow.

Key responsibilities

• Turn the product backlog into a sequenced engineering plan and manage the release train.
• Run the team’s weekly cadence, including planning, release readiness, and status reporting.
• Own engineering quality gates for model releases and ensure rollback paths.
• Keep technical debt visible, negotiate it into the roadmap, and report delivery status and risk.
• Define and review the email stack architecture, make build‑vs‑buy decisions, and approve ADRs.
• Review critical code and designs, set standards for testing, observability, and safe rollout.
• Maintain production health: SLOs, alerting, capacity, and deliverability posture.
• Act as incident commander for product‑impacting events and author post‑mortems.
• Lead a distributed team: 1:1s, goal setting, performance reviews, and career development.
• Hire, onboard, and mentor engineers and establish async working agreements.

Required profile

• 5+ years as a software engineer with 2+ years leading a team in a product company.
• Strong Linux proficiency and ability to read/review production code in Go, Python, etc.
• Track record of shipping and operating distributed backend services under real production load.
• Experience mastering a complex technical domain quickly and making credible architectural decisions.
• Fluency with observability and data tooling (Grafana, Kibana/Elasticsearch, Redash or equivalents).
• Demonstrated people leadership: 1:1s, performance conversations, hiring, and growing engineers.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development workflows.
• Understanding of ML‑driven systems, model evaluation, training, and production operations.
• Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken, and availability to work EU hours.
