General Counsel

About the role

ZeptoLab is seeking a General Counsel to act as a trusted legal partner, guiding the business through complex legal matters across multiple international jurisdictions. This senior, hands‑on position blends corporate, commercial and regulatory expertise with a passion for modern legal technology.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on corporate, commercial and regulatory issues, focusing on the UK and other jurisdictions.
• Draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements, including publishing, licensing, SaaS, procurement and strategic partnerships.
• Identify legal risks, provide pragmatic recommendations and support business decisions.
• Lead cross‑border legal projects, corporate governance and international compliance initiatives.
• Oversee intellectual property matters such as trademarks, copyrights, licensing and protection.
• Drive GDPR compliance, privacy governance, data‑processing agreements and cross‑border data transfers.
• Continuously improve contract management, legal documentation standards and legal operations.
• Support statutory audits, due‑diligence projects and regulatory reviews.
• Introduce AI‑powered workflows for contract drafting, legal research, document review and compliance monitoring.
• Collaborate with external legal advisors across jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Extensive senior in‑house counsel or General Counsel experience in an international company.
• Proven legal background in the game development industry.
• Broad international experience with strong expertise in UK corporate and commercial law.
• Deep knowledge of commercial contracts, licensing and intellectual property.
• Ability to work with external counsel to navigate unfamiliar jurisdictions.
• Business‑oriented mindset with clear communication of legal risks.
• Strong ownership, willingness to take responsibility beyond a narrow area.
• Passion for improving legal processes through AI and modern technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; Russian language skills are a plus.
