Engineering Manager – Language Security (Remote)

About the role

TuxCare is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Language Security Research function. You will own four specialist teams that deliver security patches for end‑of‑life and active open‑source language runtimes and frameworks, ensuring enterprise customers stay secure and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop four engineering teams (Java, JavaScript/Go, Python, PHP) totaling 18 engineers.
• Define hiring plans, conduct performance reviews and drive career development.
• Set technical direction and enforce standards for CVE analysis, vulnerability assessment, patch backporting and security releases across all language ecosystems.
• Drive consistency in tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
• Evaluate AI‑assisted automation for backporting and vulnerability discovery.
• Own SLA compliance, align delivery with client expectations and manage cross‑team coordination with OS, Docker and platform teams.
• Maintain up‑to‑date internal documentation and manage scope boundaries with related teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on software development across multiple language ecosystems.
• At least 3 years of engineering management experience leading distributed teams.
• Proven ability to set technical strategy, improve processes and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication skills to act as the final escalation point for complex security issues.
