Emergency Medicine Pharmacist

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Pharmacist ensures safe, evidence‑based medication use within a hospital setting. Working closely with clinicians, the pharmacist verifies orders, provides clinical pharmaceutical care, and offers patient‑centered therapy recommendations while supporting the institution’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmaceutical care, prevent and resolve medication‑related problems, and educate patients and families.
• Participate in quality‑improvement and medication‑safety initiatives, and develop clinical guidelines.
• Oversee safe and efficient medication distribution, collaborate with pharmacy staff, and supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Precept pharmacy students and residents, and contribute to departmental education programs.
• Serve on hospital committees, conduct unit inspections, and promote medication safety and quality.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy; active RPH license.
• At least two years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
• Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to organizational policies.
