Analytics Engineer (Payments & Finance Data)

About the role

Simple Life is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the finance data domain. You will integrate data from multiple sources, improve its quality, run reconciliations, and ensure financial models remain reliable for the business.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end ownership of finance data, acting as the trusted point of contact.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance data products for the finance team, including reports, alerts, automations, and financial models built in Pigment.
• Utilize Python, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt to build and maintain data pipelines and models.
• Implement continuous monitoring for data freshness, completeness, quality, and reconciliation breaks.
• Investigate data incidents, drive resolutions, and communicate findings to finance leadership.
• Create LLM‑based agents to accelerate analysis, documentation, and automation across the finance data stack.

Required profile

• Enjoys solving reconciliation puzzles and defending data accuracy to stakeholders.
• Strong experience with Python and SQL in a data engineering or analytics engineering role.
• Proven ability to build data models using dbt.
• Commercial experience handling real‑world financial or payments data, including messy, duplicated, or delayed inputs.
• Experience owning reconciliation processes or data‑quality initiatives.
