Kitchen Storekeeper

About the role

The Kitchen Storekeeper ensures that all food‑service merchandise is received, stored, and distributed efficiently within the hotel’s kitchen operations. This full‑time position supports the procurement and inventory functions while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, stage, and label merchandise by department; deliver items to the appropriate areas.
• Stack received goods on pallets or carts and complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
• Monitor stock levels, notify supervisors of low inventory, and rotate perishable items.
• Inspect deliveries for freshness, cleanliness, and quality; reject damaged or incorrect items.
• Follow food safety and handling policies; organize and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, equipment, and drains.
• Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash, placing them in proper storage areas.
• Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions and complete required safety training.
• Adhere to company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential information.
• Communicate clearly with guests and co‑workers, fostering positive working relationships.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, moving through confined spaces, and navigating uneven surfaces.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work or supervisory experience required.
• Ability to read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver items as described.
