Banqueting Captain

About the role

The Banqueting Captain leads the banquet team to deliver seamless service for events and dining guests. This full‑time position ensures the venue operates efficiently, maintains high standards of cleanliness, and provides a welcoming experience for all patrons.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate staff to work as a cohesive team, ensuring optimal service and guest satisfaction.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing the facility.
• Maintain clean‑as‑you‑go standards throughout the workday and monitor dining areas for seating availability, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and report urgent issues to the appropriate department.
• Document and report employee, guest, or vendor incidents to management and Loss Prevention.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating staff.
• Enforce company safety, security, uniform, and appearance policies while protecting confidential information and company assets.
• Greet guests professionally, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and perform physical tasks associated with banquet service.
• Clear, professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
