Team Leader – Construction Supervision for Infrastructure Projects

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee construction supervision for a major roads, tunnels and bridges project currently at the EOI stage. The role will act as the primary liaison with the client and lead the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) team.
• Serve as the main point of contact with the client and key stakeholders.
• Oversee construction supervision of roads, tunnels and major bridge works.
• Ensure compliance with FIDIC or similar contract conditions.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety and cost performance.
• Review contractor submissions, methodologies and technical deliverables.
• Provide leadership, coordination and direction to multidisciplinary teams.
• Support the client on project‑related matters as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional civil engineering qualification (Chartered/PE preferred).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• 20+ years of overall experience.
• Minimum 10 years in infrastructure projects involving roads, tunnels and major bridges.
• Minimum 10 years as a Project Manager or Team Leader.
• Strong experience with FIDIC or similar contract conditions.
• Proven leadership of large supervision teams.
