Senior Database Reliability Engineer (PostgreSQL, Terraform, AWS)

About the role

We are a leading trading platform expanding globally and seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to own and improve our PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on AWS and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL instances on AWS RDS and on‑premise, meeting uptime and performance targets.
• Design and implement automated failover, load‑balancing, and DNS strategies to ensure database availability.
• Write and maintain Terraform code for database clusters, instances, storage, parameter groups, and security groups across environments.
• Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for deployments, configuration changes, and patching cycles.
• Monitor performance with Prometheus and Grafana, creating alerts to prevent incidents.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, ClickHouse, and DynamoDB with minimal production impact.
• Manage backup, restore, and recovery processes, testing them regularly.
• Harden database security through access controls, encryption, and audits.
• Maintain underlying Linux hosts, applying security hardening and performance tuning.
• Document configurations, runbooks, and disaster‑recovery plans; participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer with production PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Deep Linux system administration skills.
• Proven ability to design high‑availability solutions (failover, replication, load‑balancing, DNS).
• Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.
