Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the development of Scrambly’s core platform. You will work on high‑traffic user‑facing services as well as internal tools that support our operations, ensuring the systems are fast, reliable and scalable for millions of global users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain highly scalable Node.js (NestJS) RESTful APIs and distributed services.
• Champion clean, testable code, conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Monitor system reliability, resolve performance bottlenecks and manage containerized lifecycles.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and QA to translate requirements into technical specifications and communicate constraints.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Node.js and modern frameworks such as NestJS.
• Proven ability to design backend architecture, RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable), Docker, Kubernetes and IaC tools (Terraform, Helm).
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases, and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, GCP Pub/Sub, Redis Pub/Sub).
• Basic proficiency with React to build internal UI tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast‑paced environment.
