Senior AWS Python Developer / Ops Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level AWS Python Developer / Ops Engineer to lead the evolution of a high‑traffic, event‑driven serverless platform. The role combines hands‑on application development in Python with infrastructure‑as‑code expertise in TypeScript, and requires deep operational knowledge of DynamoDB and AWS services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain resilient, event‑driven services on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (TypeScript) to ensure reliable deployments.
• Drive architectural decisions, evaluate design alternatives and document trade‑offs.
• Ensure security, high availability, scalability and observability of all services.
• Create and maintain automated end‑to‑end tests to guarantee product quality.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance the developer platform and engineering standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and experience guiding architectural direction.
• Comfortable diving into an existing mature codebase and adopting established conventions.
• Willingness to work remotely from anywhere in Georgia.

Required skills

• Python (primary development language).
• TypeScript and AWS CDK for infrastructure as code.
• AWS serverless services: Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, VPC, multi‑account setups.
• Deep expertise with DynamoDB (single‑table design, GSIs/LSIs, capacity planning, TTL).
• Experience with event‑driven architectures and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Automated testing, preferably BDD frameworks such as Behave.
• Schema definition and validation tools like JSON Schema or Pydantic.
• Optional: operational experience with AWS OpenSearch.
