About the role

The RN Acute Care – Orthopedic Surgical position provides high‑quality, safe patient care on a part‑time night shift within an interdisciplinary team. The nurse delivers evidence‑based, relationship‑centered care for orthopedic surgical patients, partnering with families and respecting cultural diversity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using critical thinking and evidence‑based practices.
• Ensure patient safety and quality outcomes through effective care coordination and accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members via interdisciplinary communication, rounds, and patient education.
• Support performance‑improvement initiatives, research activities, and uphold organizational policies and safety standards.
• Mentor and precept other nursing staff and students, fostering professional development.
• Participate in protocol development, resource management, and data collection to enhance care outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, preferably in direct patient care.
• Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active RN license (single‑state or multi‑state compact) and BLS certification.
• Strong communication, technological proficiency, critical thinking, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment and respond decisively to emergencies.
