Medical Scientific Liaison – Biomarker Assays

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison to accelerate adoption of its B·R·A·H·M·S biomarker assays, focusing on maternal‑fetal medicine. The role combines scientific education, stakeholder engagement, and data collection to support the company’s medical strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Educate internal teams and external customers on disease states relevant to the prenatal screening biomarker portfolio.
• Act as a consulting expert, helping customers develop clinical pathways and protocols to improve patient management.
• Respond to off‑label medical information requests with balanced scientific and technical assay data.
• Identify and profile key opinion leaders, advisors, and influencers, building respectful scientific dialogue.
• Attend scientific congresses, present at medical affairs meetings, and prepare post‑meeting reports.
• Generate scientific insights to inform business‑wide medical and clinical strategies.
• Identify collaborative research opportunities and channel proposals to the internal review board.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (MSc, PhD, or MD) with 1‑2 years experience in maternal‑fetal medicine, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Self‑starter with strong passion for patient‑care advancement through education and networking.
• Willingness to travel 3‑4 days per week, including 2‑3 overnight stays.
