Medical Laboratory Technologist (Night Shift)

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist works night shifts to perform clinical laboratory testing under supervision, ensuring accurate results and compliance with protocols. The role includes equipment maintenance, documentation, and participation in quality assurance activities while supporting a collaborative lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient and specimen identification, manage error rates, and document QA investigations.
• Analyze, interpret, and report laboratory data within established turnaround times.
• Monitor test statuses, record notifications, and facilitate effective team communication.
• Contribute to performance improvements, inspection readiness, and cost‑efficient high‑quality testing.
• Stay current with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards; engage in ongoing education and safety practices.
• Support laboratory process improvements and participate in meetings, committees, and projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• ASCP certification (MT, MLS) or equivalent required at hire.
• At least one year of laboratory experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer and data entry tasks.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Epic and 3M laboratory information systems (preferred).
