Lead Systems Engineer

About the role

Gcore is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to own the design, deployment and ongoing operation of its Edge Network infrastructure. You will work with a global team to ensure the platform is fast, reliable, secure and ready for AI‑driven workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, implementation and maintenance of edge servers, networking and supporting infrastructure.
• Guarantee high availability, performance and security hardening across all systems.
• Mentor engineers, set technical direction and define goals.
• Develop and manage automation for provisioning, monitoring and maintenance.
• Define best‑practice standards for observability, incident response and configuration management.
• Collaborate with product, R&D, network, security and support teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident management.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• 6+ years of systems engineering or SRE experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Proven experience in Linux/*nix environments and cloud/hybrid infrastructures.
• Solid understanding of networking, security and storage concepts.
