International Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

SHELADIA Associates is seeking experienced International Senior Geotechnical Engineers to supervise highway construction under an EIB‑funded assignment in Georgia. Two separate engineers are required for Lots I and II, each responsible for delivering high‑quality geotechnical oversight on complex transportation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect cut slopes, design drainage, slope protection and retaining structures, and recommend stability measures.
• Review foundation excavations for embankments, confirm appropriate foundation depths, and perform supplementary stability analyses.
• Assist the Materials Engineer in selecting suitable embankment materials.
• Inspect shallow footings, rock‑socketed bored piles, and verify bearing pressures and penetration depths.
• Review contractor design revisions, supervise pile testing, interpret results and advise on acceptance.
• Assess rock‑condition parameters, temporary support requirements, and coordinate geologists and other geotechnical staff.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with a professional license (PE, CEng, EUR ING or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years on large‑scale international road or railway projects.
• At least 5 years of experience with FIDIC Red Book or FIDIC MDB Harmonized Conditions of Contract.
• Strong background in foundations, slope stability, embankments, soil and rock engineering, piling and retaining structures.
• Prior regional experience in Georgia or similar environments is highly desired.
