Data Science Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Data Science Manager to lead and grow our data science team across product, marketing, performance and beyond. Reporting to the Head of Data, you will set the quality bar for modelling and experimentation, translate business needs into clear team priorities, and act as the bridge between data scientists and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own the team’s output across verticals, shaping and prioritising the roadmap in line with business goals.
• Translate stakeholder needs into data‑science priorities, manage expectations and communicate results to non‑technical audiences.
• Review modelling approaches, experimental design and causal inference work, stepping in to pair, deliver or correct as needed.
• Hire, coach and develop data scientists, run hiring loops, conduct 1:1s and collaborate on performance, compensation and career paths.
• Champion rigorous experimentation, including A/B testing, quasi‑experimental methods and causal thinking for product and performance tracks.

Required profile

• Hands‑on data‑science background with proven models, experiments or analyses that were adopted by other teams.
• Depth in at least one domain such as recommendation systems, experimental design, customer segmentation, churn prediction, fraud detection or CRM analytics.
• Strong command of statistical methods, supervised and unsupervised machine learning and causal inference.
• Demonstrated leadership experience – tech‑lead, mentor or hiring interviewer; formal people‑management a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to give precise technical feedback and represent the team to senior non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based data and ML platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) is a plus.
