AI Engineer

About the role

Deel is looking for an AI Engineer to accelerate development using AI‑powered coding tools. You will help ship robust backend features quickly while ensuring high quality and reliability for our global payroll and HR platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, designers and QA to gather requirements and define feature scope.
• Leverage AI coding assistants such as Claude to generate boilerplate, scaffolding and production‑grade code.
• Critically review and test all AI‑generated code before it is released.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services that support users in over 150 countries.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of delivering production‑ready backend solutions.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced SaaS environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to evaluate and integrate AI‑assisted development tools while maintaining code quality.

Required skills

• Experience with AI coding tools, specifically Claude.
• Backend development expertise (languages, frameworks, APIs).
