Senior Release Engineer (Go / Erlang)

About the role

The Senior Release Engineer will oversee and optimise the end‑to‑end release process for complex, distributed systems. This full‑time remote position involves designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, coordinating release activities across development, QA and operations, and ensuring safe, reliable deployments to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD infrastructure and release pipelines.
• Automate release workflows, versioning, packaging and rollout strategies.
• Collaborate with software engineers to confirm release readiness and monitor release quality.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and improve tooling for monitoring and incident management.
• Participate in program‑level planning to align releases with product roadmaps and stakeholder expectations.

Required profile

• Strong experience in release engineering and release management for production‑grade distributed systems.
• Hands‑on software development background, preferably with Go and/or Erlang.
• Program‑management skills to coordinate schedules, risks and cross‑team communication.
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
