Receiving Supervisor

About the role

The Receiving Supervisor leads the Receiving Department, ensuring shipments are received, inspected, stored and moved efficiently. This role combines hands‑on participation in daily operations with coaching, training and performance management of the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the Receiving team, providing direction, training and feedback to meet departmental goals.
• Oversee daily receiving operations including unloading shipments, inspecting product, entering data via RF scanners and completing put‑away tasks.
• Coordinate workflow, staffing schedules and labor assignments based on volume and priority.
• Monitor productivity, quality, accuracy and budget performance, taking corrective action as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 + years of warehouse or distribution experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with fresh, perishable or temperature‑sensitive products is preferred.
• Ability to pass all required pre‑employment screenings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., Apprise).
• Use of RF scanners and other warehouse technology.
• Forklift operation and certification (or ability to become certified).
