Part-Time Acute Care/Med-Surg Registered Nurse

About the role

The RN Clinical Nurse provides proactive, high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute care/med-surg setting. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the nurse follows evidence-based standards, the Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics to deliver safe, culturally respectful care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing processes including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver relationship-based care aligned with patient goals, involving patients and families through effective communication and education.
• Coordinate safe, quality care through interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and fostering a respectful environment.
• Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence‑based practice activities to enhance patient outcomes.
• Support resource management, protocol development, and compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to promote workforce development and professional growth.

Required profile

• Associate or Bachelor’s Nursing degree (preferred).
• Current RN license (single or multi-state) and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 5 years RN experience, preferably direct patient care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to adapt in fast‑paced environments and respond decisively to emergencies.
