National Strategic Communications Consultant

About the role

UN Women is seeking a National Strategic Communications Consultant to lead the development and dissemination of positive, evidence‑based narratives on gender equality and women’s rights across Georgia. The consultant will work closely with state and non‑state partners to counter anti‑gender narratives and strengthen public discourse.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic communications plan that promotes gender equality, women’s empowerment and the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
• Develop context‑sensitive messaging, media content and advocacy tools to counter misinformation and anti‑gender narratives.
• Support government, civil society and media partners in crafting and amplifying gender‑responsive narratives.
• Monitor public and political discourse to identify emerging threats to gender equality and advise on communication responses.
• Produce reports, briefs and case studies that showcase the impact of UN Women’s work in Georgia.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic communications, public affairs or advocacy, preferably in the gender equality or human rights sector.
• Deep understanding of the sociopolitical context in Georgia and the dynamics of anti‑gender narratives.
• Strong analytical skills to assess media trends and public sentiment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Georgian is an asset.
