National Strategic Communications Consultant

About the role

UN Women Georgia is seeking a National Strategic Communications Consultant to strengthen its communication efforts in a challenging environment. The consultant will develop and disseminate evidence‑based, context‑sensitive narratives that promote gender equality, women’s rights, and women’s leadership, while countering anti‑gender narratives in public and political discourse.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a national strategic communications plan aligned with UN Women’s gender‑equality agenda.
• Produce high‑quality content (policy briefs, op‑eds, social media posts, videos) that highlights positive stories of women’s empowerment.
• Engage with media outlets, civil‑society organisations, and government partners to amplify gender‑equality messages.
• Monitor and analyse public discourse to identify emerging anti‑gender narratives and recommend rapid‑response strategies.
• Support advocacy campaigns on women’s political participation, economic empowerment, and Women, Peace and Security.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic communications, preferably within international development or gender‑equality contexts.
• Deep understanding of the Georgian socio‑political landscape and the dynamics of civil society.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Georgian.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
