ESG Specialist – TBC Uzbekistan

About the role

TBC Group is expanding its sustainability agenda, and Uzbekistan is one of its most important and fastest-growing markets. TBC Bank is looking for an ESG Specialist to join the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Department and take responsibility for ESG and climate-related matters of TBC Uzbekistan. The role links the ESG Competence Center, TBC Group and TBC Uzbekistan, covering the implementation of ESG strategies, alignment with Central Bank of Uzbekistan requirements, climate risk assessment and project coordination. It is a new direction for the Group and the Uzbek market, offering the chance to build expertise from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the TBC Group ESG strategy, policies and programmes locally, adapt them to the market and regulatory context, and turn Group objectives into a local action plan with targets, owners and timelines.
• Identify material ESG issues and integrate ESG into business decisions, product development, lending, investment and supply chain, and support green, sustainable and social products.
• Monitor and interpret ESG, sustainability and climate regulations of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other authorities, track national policy developments and close regulatory gaps.
• Assess physical and transition climate risks, support climate scenario analysis and stress testing, financed emissions data and climate-related KPIs.
• Coordinate ESG and climate data for Group sustainability, annual and climate reports (GRI, IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, CDP), set ESG KPIs and prepare reporting to IFIs, investors and partners.
• Plan, manage and monitor ESG projects, coordinate between teams in Georgia and Uzbekistan, and liaise with Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Investor Relations, HR and others.
• Engage stakeholders, run ESG training and workshops, and conduct research and stay up to date on ESG trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, environmental sciences or a similar field.
• Curiosity, analytical rigour and a willingness to learn as much as existing experience.
