CT Technologist

About the role

The CT Technologist delivers high‑quality imaging services while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Working independently in a collaborative healthcare environment, they operate CT and radiographic equipment following departmental protocols and ALARA principles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures accurately, obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, and verify orders.
• Explain procedures, prepare patients, and use AIDET communication to reduce anxiety.
• Administer contrast agents and perform venipuncture using sterile techniques when required.
• Position patients, apply shielding, and review images for diagnostic quality, repeating scans as needed.
• Document procedures in RIS/PACS, ensure proper study finalization and retrieval.
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and maintain life‑support equipment.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT‑R (Radiography), ARRT‑CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

Required skills

• Operation of CT and radiographic equipment.
• Administration of contrast agents and venipuncture.
• Use of RIS/PACS for documentation and image retrieval.
• Application of radiation safety (ALARA) and patient shielding.
• Patient monitoring and life‑support equipment operation.
