Audit Analyst - Clinical Charge

About the role

The Clinical Charge Audit Analyst ensures accurate clinical documentation, coding, and charge entry for cardiovascular procedures performed in Cath and EP labs. This role supports revenue integrity and regulatory compliance through detailed record reviews and collaboration with clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation, reports, and inventory for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct medical record reviews to verify proper coding, billing, and regulatory adherence.
• Assign ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes to optimize reimbursement.
• Collaborate with departments to develop charge codes for new procedures and supplies.
• Enter accurate data into Epic and Lawson billing systems.
• Monitor revenue reports, reconcile charges, and troubleshoot billing issues.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding changes and documentation standards.
• Research new procedures, supplies, and reimbursement opportunities.
• Participate in regulatory surveys and assist with data collection for compliance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED required; relevant certifications upon hire.
• Minimum 3 years of acute care coding, billing, or charge capture experience.
• At least 5 years of clinical interventional cardiovascular/EP, IR, or surgical experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Experience with Epic and Lawson billing systems.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding.
