UI/UX Product Designer

About the role

Bolder Apps is looking for a mid‑senior UI/UX Product Designer to own the design of client mobile and web applications on a remote, monthly‑retainer basis. You will work directly with US‑based founders and product owners, turning ambiguous briefs into production‑ready specifications that engineers can build.

Key responsibilities

• Own product UI/UX for client mobile and web apps from discovery through handoff across multiple engagements.
• Lead client‑facing design reviews, workshops and asynchronous critiques during US business hours.
• Transform messy briefs into flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity screens and interactive prototypes.
• Build and maintain design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency.
• Partner with product managers and engineers on scope cuts, edge cases, empty states, loading, errors, accessibility and platform conventions (HIG, Material).
• Deliver Figma files with named layers, variants, auto‑layout, redlines or tokens, and export‑ready assets.
• Use AI‑powered design and research tools to accelerate work, reviewing output before delivery.
• Flag design risk early when briefs are unclear or timelines unrealistic.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of production UI/UX design experience with shipped mobile or web products.
• Portfolio that includes full case studies showing problem definition, constraints, decisions and final shipped result.
• Proven experience speaking directly with founders or product owners, defending design choices and maintaining strong relationships.
• Agency or consultancy background preferred.
• Strong fluency in Figma, including components, variants and auto‑layout.
