Senior Sales Engineer – Oil & Gas, Central Asia

About the role

Caterpillar’s Solar Turbines division is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to expand its business across Central Asia. You will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to drive new turbomachinery projects, construction services, and aftermarket support for oil and gas customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory sales plans, forecasts and account strategies to meet business targets.
• Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities in the Oil & Gas market, building relationships with operators, national oil companies, EPC contractors and consultants.
• Understand customer technical requirements and commercial priorities, positioning Solar Turbines solutions with a differentiated value proposition.
• Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering, construction, contracts, finance and customer service teams.
• Represent Solar Turbines in customer meetings, technical presentations, negotiations and contract discussions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, risks and opportunities, and share intelligence internally.
• Support hand‑over from sales to project execution, ensuring commitments align with company policies and customer expectations.
• Attend industry conferences and maintain a professional network across the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in technical sales, business development, project engineering or a similar commercial role within Oil & Gas, energy or turbomachinery.
• Strong knowledge of turbomachinery principles, gas turbines, compression and power‑generation applications.
