Senior Database Administrator – PostgreSQL & Cloud

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to manage both on-premises and cloud database infrastructure. The role ensures database services meet agreed service levels for availability, performance and scalability while collaborating closely with developers, QA and support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate high-availability PostgreSQL clusters (Patroni) and cloud services (Amazon RDS/Aurora).
• Define and execute backup, disaster-recovery and business-continuity procedures, including PITR with pgBackRest or Barman.
• Monitor performance, capacity and operational metrics; conduct root-cause analysis of incidents and drive remediation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and act as escalation point for critical production issues.
• Lead data migration projects, perform risk analysis and drive innovation in database technologies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration in mission-critical environments.
• Proven experience designing high-availability architectures using Patroni and managing Amazon RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, point-in-time recovery and PostgreSQL internals.

Required skills

• PostgreSQL (including native partitioning and TimescaleDB).
• Patroni, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
• pgBackRest, Barman for backup and recovery.
• Ansible for automation.
• Linux system administration.
• Zabbix monitoring.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse (optional).
