Senior Accountant / Team Lead – International Markets

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant based in Georgia to lead the accounting function for our international locations. The role combines supervision of a local accounting team, audit support, and ownership of the import‑export accounting workstream for Georgian operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review the work of AP & Banking and GL & Reporting accountants, ensuring quality control of postings and month‑end close sign‑off.
• Plan workload, coordinate deadlines, and train/onboard team members.
• Act as escalation point for complex postings, accounting policy questions, and judgment areas.
• Prepare information and responses for external auditors and support senior‑level requests such as residence certificates and intercompany transaction files.
• Lead cross‑country meetings and tax alignment discussions with group companies.
• Manage the accounting for Georgian import and export transactions, including customs duties, freight, insurance, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and the Georgian Revenue Service, handling VAT treatment and tax filings.
• Monitor GEL/FX handling and ensure compliance with Georgian currency and customs regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience, with at least 2 years supervising or reviewing other accountants.
• Proven experience in international, multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments.
• Knowledge of Georgian accounting, tax and customs requirements for import/export operations.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Georgian for local interactions.
