Outpatient Clinic Charge Nurse (RN)

About the role

The RN Clinical Charge Nurse leads daily unit operations in an outpatient clinic, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care. Working within evidence‑based models, the charge nurse supports interdisciplinary teams and promotes a culture of accountability and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient assignments, staffing, and resource planning to optimize care delivery.
• Conduct daily patient rounds, evaluate care quality, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff for patient flow, discharge planning, and clinical concerns.
• Promote relationship‑based, patient‑centered care through effective communication and hand‑offs.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and evidence‑based practice.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) with a valid RN license and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; 2+ years as a relief charge nurse preferred.
• Strong clinical expertise, leadership ability, and capacity to make critical decisions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
