Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) – VASP

About the role

The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) will lead the AML/CFT programme for a Virtual Asset Service Provider operating in Georgia. You will ensure full compliance with Georgian AML legislation, the National Bank of Georgia, and international FATF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the company’s AML/CFT framework.
• Monitor, investigate and file suspicious activity reports to the Financial Monitoring Service of Georgia.
• Conduct customer, product and jurisdictional risk assessments and apply mitigation measures.
• Oversee CDD, EDD and ongoing due‑diligence processes.
• Design and continuously improve the KYC onboarding journey and Customer Risk Assessment methodology.
• Act as primary liaison with regulators, managing inspections, audits and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain audit, investigation and remediation records, ensuring traceability.
• Deliver AML/CFT training across the organisation.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of the AML/CFT framework and propose remediation actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of AML/CFT compliance experience within a VASP, fintech or regulated financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of Georgian AML/CFT legislation and FATF standards.
• Practical experience designing risk‑assessment methodologies and KYC/EDD frameworks.
• Solid understanding of virtual assets, blockchain technology and related products.
• High integrity, professional independence and ability to engage confidently with regulators and senior management.
