Head of Accounting

About the role

York Holding Group, a real‑estate and investment holding company operating in Georgia and the GCC, seeks an experienced Head of Accounting to lead its multi‑jurisdictional finance function. You will oversee accounting teams across four countries and ensure consistent, compliant financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group accounting team, including the Chief Accountant in Georgia and local teams in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
• Oversee and provide final review of tax declarations and statutory filings.
• Establish and maintain a unified Group compliance calendar for timely filings.
• Ensure disciplined month‑end closing, reconciliations, and robust internal controls across all entities.
• Manage external audits end‑to‑end and maintain continuous audit readiness.
• Standardise accounting policies, methodologies, and standards throughout the Group.
• Maintain accurate budget‑line accounting and proper treatment across branches.
• Preserve Odoo ERP data integrity, including the general ledger, trial balance, and reporting structure.
• Monitor cost control, verify vendor and service contracts, and ensure accurate accounting of real‑estate deals and inventory.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Georgian tax legislation; exposure to international accounting and tax practices is a plus.
• Proven track record managing external audits from preparation through completion.
• Advanced Excel skills and solid ERP experience; Odoo experience preferred.
• Working proficiency in Georgian and English.
• Detail‑oriented, control‑focused, and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership ability to manage a distributed, multi‑country accounting team.
