Equipment Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead the planning, coordination and execution of both scheduled and unscheduled technical services for port handling equipment. The role ensures safe, high‑quality maintenance, repairs and preventive actions while eliminating identified defects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and control preventive and corrective maintenance activities for a wide range of port equipment.
• Monitor and manage all Work Orders (WO) from creation to closure, ensuring accurate recording of downtime and repair times.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to guarantee timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
• Work closely with the planning team to ensure on‑time execution of scheduled tasks.
• Oversee the return of equipment to operation after repairs and update relevant systems.
• Lead a team of technicians, conduct risk assessments, develop SOPs and deliver safety briefings.
• Authorize work stoppage when safety risks are identified and report incidents immediately.

Required profile

• Higher technical education in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Proven experience supervising maintenance of heavy handling equipment in a port or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repair procedures.
• Ability to manage a team, enforce safety standards and conduct risk assessments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IFS CMMS for fault reporting, WO management and equipment tracking.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Equipment diagnostics and repair for mobile cranes, rail cranes, spreaders, greifers, auto‑loaders, terminal tractors and other specialized port machinery.
