Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Operations Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and continuously improve the day‑to‑day operations of our furniture components business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all operational functions except sales and purchasing, ensuring efficiency, control, and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily operations, excluding sales and purchasing.
• Oversee warehouse, logistics, inventory handling, and distribution processes.
• Supervise administrative and operational teams, fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
• Establish clear procedures, responsibilities, and control mechanisms.
• Develop, monitor, and act on departmental and employee KPIs.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper stock handling, warehouse organization, and inventory control.
• Monitor delivery performance, vehicle utilization, and logistics efficiency.
• Work closely with Finance, HR, IT, Sales, and Purchasing to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in recruitment, performance evaluation, and reporting to the CEO.
• Lead automation and digital‑process projects where appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in operations, logistics, distribution, wholesale, retail, manufacturing, or a related sector.
• Proven ability to manage multiple departments and teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse and logistics operations.
• Experience implementing KPIs, procedures, and internal controls.
• Analytical, problem‑solving, and ownership mindset.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Hands‑on approach to operational environments.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (advantage).
