Chief Accountant

About the role

EFES Georgia, a leading brewery in the Georgian market, is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its accounting department. The role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, overseeing financial reporting, and managing a team of accounting professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Align accounting policies with the Tax Code and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review, and submit primary accounting documentation accurately and on time.
• Review and approve tax calculations, ensuring timely filings and compliance.
• Identify tax risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Prepare statistical reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions.
• Supervise the preparation, archiving, and efficient operation of accounting documentation.
• Manage month‑end closing activities and consolidated reporting files.
• Oversee electronic excise stamp orders and maintain relationships with banks, insurers, and auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field (MBA a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience at a supervisory level.
• Experience in the FMCG or beverage sector is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Team‑management experience with a focus on training and development.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
