Senior Generative AI Python Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer with hands‑on experience in Generative AI to join one of seven agile teams working on a large‑scale enterprise search platform. The role focuses on building and enhancing AI‑powered search solutions using technologies such as Coveo, OpenSearch, and ElasticSearch.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and features in Python.
• Integrate and optimise search engines (OpenSearch, Coveo) for enterprise search products.
• Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and Generative AI capabilities within search applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across EPAM, the client, and vendors.
• Mentor front‑end engineers transitioning to full‑stack development with a Python focus.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience using Python as the primary development language.
• Solid understanding of search systems and RAG architecture.
• Practical experience with Generative AI tools and daily AI development.
• Experience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Strong English communication skills (B2+).
