Lead AI Python Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Lead AI Python Engineer to drive innovation in Generative AI and deliver AI‑powered solutions for client projects and internal products. The role offers full remote flexibility within Georgia and access to modern offices in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi.

Key responsibilities

• Design AI‑driven applications using Python frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI.
• Architect scalable, cloud‑based infrastructures for AI solutions.
• Deploy optimized Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation and Generative AI features into production systems.
• Translate business requirements into robust AI solutions in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Solve complex technical, infrastructural and production challenges.
• Write well‑documented, high‑quality code that follows industry standards.
• Adopt emerging technologies in Python, cloud platforms and AI to advance development innovation.

Required profile

• Senior‑to‑architect level software development experience with hands‑on coding.
• Proven background in Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) and integration of AI functionalities.
• Production experience in Generative AI, prompt engineering and model fine‑tuning.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models and Retrieval Augmented Generation.
• Hands‑on expertise with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and effective communication across diverse audiences.
• Passion for advancing Generative AI in client and organizational projects.
