Tunnel Systems Specialist

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking a Tunnel Systems Specialist to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and safety systems of a major tunnel infrastructure project. The role is part of a project currently at the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage and will involve ensuring that all tunnel systems meet design, integration and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of tunnel MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and safety systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to guarantee system integration and compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor system performance and address any technical issues throughout the construction phase.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in tunnel or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex system integrations.
