Parts Development Cost Management Specialist

About the role

The Parts Development Cost Management Specialist joins the Cost Management team at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cost Management, Parts Development, the role focuses on analysing and optimising the financial performance of vehicle parts and the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead material cost calculations for new and existing vehicle programs, track target cost achievement and report to senior leadership.
• Collect, consolidate and analyse material cost data across all HMGMA‑built vehicles, highlighting variances by vehicle and supplier.
• Assess the impact of tariff changes, raw‑material price shifts, labour rates and other factors on part costs, and work with Commercial and Procurement to support pricing decisions.
• Validate, track and forecast procurement costs, and evaluate design, material and process changes for cost implications.
• Oversee tooling and investment budgets, manage assetisation and ensure proper capitalization with Finance.
• Gather, track and report VA/VE proposals, participate in vehicle breakdown events and cost‑optimization meetings.
• Manage material cost re‑evaluation reporting, coordinate SAP retro‑processing and timeline execution with Finance.
• Support part localisation initiatives, maintain cost‑management documentation and assist the Purchasing Management team with data collection and reporting.

Required profile

• Strong accounting, analytical and systems background with high attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate cost insights effectively.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and cost variance analysis.
