Director of Sales

About the role

OpenGov is seeking a Director of Sales to lead one of its regional sales teams. The role focuses on defining regional strategy, acquiring new customers, and driving revenue growth for the company’s AI‑powered ERP solutions for local and state governments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Recruit, hire, coach, and mentor a high‑performing field sales team.
• Guide Account Executives in balancing hunter and consultative sales approaches.
• Manage complex, multi‑stage sales cycles from prospecting to close.
• Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts within a 10% variance.
• Maintain a visible field presence and actively participate in customer engagements.
• Identify, negotiate, and close major contracts with executive support.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading regional sales teams in a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
• Strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining top sales talent.
• Ability to create and execute strategic sales plans that deliver measurable growth.
• Excellent forecasting and pipeline management skills.
• Hands‑on leadership style with a willingness to work directly with customers.
