Senior Backend Engineer - Payments (Go, TypeScript, Node.js)

About the role

SPD Technology is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a product team building payment infrastructure for merchants and partner platforms. You will own critical backend payment flows, integrate with acquirers, and design robust, event‑driven services that handle complex financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end payment flows (authorization, capture, refund, dispute handling, payouts) in TypeScript/NestJS services.
• Design and maintain acquirer‑agnostic integrations, hosted checkout experiences, and fee‑calculation logic.
• Build reconciliation and settlement layers, handling idempotent webhooks, retries, and state machines.
• Integrate fraud, KYC, and bank‑account verification providers, and manage ACH mechanics.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on payment systems.
• Proven track record owning production payment flows and integrating with processors such as Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, etc.
