Physical Therapy Assistant PRN Acute Care

About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with the Physical Therapist to develop and implement treatment programs aimed at restoring or improving patients' mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum in a cost-effective, quality‑focused, and patient‑centered manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans under therapist supervision and select appropriate activities to achieve patient goals.
• Revise care plans collaboratively with therapists, patients, and families.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
• Document each treatment session following departmental protocols and complete required documentation timely.
• Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and adherence to dress code, while effectively communicating with team members.
• Foster a positive environment, support customer service principles, and participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent.
• Valid PTA license and BLS certification.
